All Jobs (nowadays) Are Temporary!

and, the workforce is shrinking - your skills will continue to be in demand if only on a p/t or contract basis. 1/3 of what employers are looking for is document-able on a resume, so you must MEET people!

today's workplace is one where they use a new DVP to chop a lot of bodies, then they chop him. or, it could be one where the pension you have paid into for 50 years may not actually be paid out.
*
REMEMBER these things, and conduct yourself accordingly

your resume must capture attention in 15 seconds, and recruiters will spend about 2 min reviewing it in full

at an interview ask questions based on what you have found out about the organization in order to show you WANT the job. speak to question ASKER in a panel interview. keep answers short but ask "would you like me to elaborate?"

other useful questions = what challenges have other incumbents faced in the pos'n?
how long do you expect a person to be in this role?
